Family photos don’t need to mean everyone standing in a perfect row, smiling at the camera and hoping the kids cooperate.

For me, the best family photography sessions are much more relaxed than that. They’re about capturing the way your family actually feels together — the laughs, the cuddles, the personalities and all those little moments in between.

You don’t need to be “good” at photos

I hear “We’re terrible in front of the camera” all the time.

You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do. I’ll guide you enough that you feel comfortable, while still leaving plenty of room for things to happen naturally.

And if the kids don’t cooperate for every minute? That’s completely fine.

We can walk, play, cuddle, explore and let them be themselves. A shy child, energetic toddler or reluctant teenager isn’t a problem, the aim isn’t perfection, it’s connection.

Of course we’ll take a few fab photos where everyone is together and looking at the camera, but I also love the little moments in between.

Holding hands. Laughing together. Siblings being siblings. The way you look at your children when they’re not paying attention.

Those are often the photographs that become the most special over time.
