My approach:
Kylie's "Vivid" collection is a whimsical exploration, blending futuristic style with playful nostalgia, and it was an absolute delight to photograph. Inspired by AI aesthetics and a touch of 'Willy Wonka' magic, I set out to capture each sculpted silhouette and bold texture in a way that brings Kylie's imagination to life. Every detail you see, from the shine to the colour blocking, was created and captured in-camera, with no digital shortcuts. It’s a celebration of creativity, craft, and the magic that happens when vision meets real-world artistry.
GEOMETRY
My approach:
The photography in this collection amplifies the vision of Geometry with striking precision and restraint. Shot in monochrome with the occasional injection of vivid colour, each portrait is a study in contrast, texture, and form. The lighting is sculptural, intentionally crisp to carve out the bold shapes of the hair while keeping the skin luminous and clean. Every frame is composed with an editorial sensibility that honours both the hair as art and the model as muse. DISTORT
My approach:
‘Distort’ was an absolute dream to photograph: bold, unfiltered, and bursting with intention. Kylie’s concept challenges the norm, so I approached the shoot with a focus on clarity, colour, and character. Every hue is deliberate, every pose raw and dynamic, captured through the lens with zero reliance on filters or digital trickery. This is a celebration of truth in creativity, where vibrant styling meets honest photography to amplify the message behind the work.
BROKEN
My approach:
Photographing the ‘Broken’ collection was a deeply moving experience, one that demanded emotional sensitivity and visual restraint. I leaned into a muted, painterly style of lighting and texture to let the rawness of the concept come forward without distraction. Each image was carefully crafted to hold space for vulnerability, with shadows and stillness used to reflect Kylie’s powerful narrative of emotional strain, inequality, and resilience. Nothing in these frames is manufactured or artificial; every element was captured intentionally, with reverence for the story behind it. This is photographic storytelling in its most human form.
CELESTIAL
My approach:
Photographing ‘Celestial’ was like stepping into a dreamworld of light, texture, and ethereal movement. I crafted the lighting to create a radiant, golden glow, evoking the feeling of floating embers or falling stars, while the softness of fabric and flow of hair brought a sense of weightlessness to each frame. This series is all about delicacy and presence, where each image captures a fleeting, magical moment that feels suspended in time. Every detail was created in-camera to honour the artistry behind the collection and bring Kylie’s celestial vision to life with warmth and wonder.
